A visually stunning film, which does not spoon feed the viewer. There is a theme of self destruction throughout the film. Sometimes referred to directly, but mostly implied. People who want a middle of the road film which resolves all conflicts with a happy ending, might not enjoy this film. The film leaves the viewer with questions to chew on after it ends, as all good films should. This is cosmic horror done right. A stunning, thought provoking science fiction film.

Personally I think many people won't actually understand what is happening until you understand the meaning behind the movie which is cancer ,annihilation is an amazing movie and it will make you view the disease cancer in a new or different perspective when you search the meaning behind the movie that's when it clicks and then you think damn wow I didn't see that one coming
