Furnished with incomplete characters overacting loudly over one another this offering is hazy at best in its delivery and overly nonchalant in its exploration of themes. The viewer is left mentally exhausted as a result so that the overall message is lost by time its ready to be picked up. Really, it's a showcase of real to life turbulence where winners and losers are one in the same because the things that matter to them don't matter at all so love is flatliner when they need it most. Sad fact.

This movie does not even deserve one star, but that is how the comment box opens. This movie is disgusting, and certainly did not deserve 5 Oscars. It is pornography, pure and simple, and does not deserve to be shown on Google Play, or Hulu. Just plain disgusting.

Anora is truly a special movie worthy of winning Cannes and is the strongest contender of next year's Oscars. This might just look like another cliche Cinderella story but it goes so much far and beyond that. The emotional depth and authenticity that this movie achieves is indeed exceptional. Sean Baker said that he had a rough idea of this movie in his mind for years, and that he wrote the script AFTER he casted main characters which is one of the reasons why it felt so natural.
