About this movie

The story and characters you know and love come to spectacular life in the live-action adaptation of Disney’s animated classic Beauty and the Beast, a cinematic event celebrating one of the most beloved tales ever told. Experience the fantastic journey of Belle, a bright, beautiful and independent young woman who is taken prisoner by a Beast in his castle. Despite her fears, she befriends the castle’s enchanted staff, and learns to look beyond the Beast’s hideous exterior and realize the kind heart of the true Prince within.

The animation was excellent, with music and visual effect stunning and appealing throughout the entire 2hr movie length. The character portrayal and script remain true to the well loved storyline, with some additional original elements including the backstory of both beast and Belle. Animators used thoughtful attention to detail which really brought the character out of the beast, a rather difficult act to follow after the original animation. Belle acted superbly and Gaston probably the most convincing actor to the stereotype of the self-loving individual. The dance choreography by the supporting crowds was my favourite. Having grown up on the original Disney classic, i thoroughly enjoyed watching this film with my wife on date night.

An unnecessary remake. I think if you're going to make a live-action remake of something then it should offer a new layer of realism and/or modernism and this did not deliver. Nothing here is convincing or generates any real emotion, nor are there any real laughs. The interplay between live action and animation is, of course, impressive, but the 90s animation is more fun. Also I know it's "just" a fairytale but there was a really easy option not to make the beast imprison Belle that the writers just didn't take, which destroyed any possible connection to the characters.

They ruined beauty and the beast for me. None of it is how it happens in the cartoon. It would of been a hell of a lot better if the put anna kendrick in it. She can sing with or without auto tune and the fact that she is a way better actor then emma Watson. Anna really should have got this role and not emma they have completely runied beauty and the beast. Why put someone that cant sing and needs alot of auto tune then someone who can sing with or without it doesn't make any sense. Its so stupid i hate it.
