Throughout history, Dracula has filled men's hearts with fear and women's hearts with desire. In this stylish retelling of the classic tale of horror, Frank Langella gives an electrifying performance as the bloodthirsty Count, with Sir Laurence Olivier as his legendary nemesis, Van Helsing, the renowned and relentless vampire hunter seeking to end the Dark Prince's reign of terror over the citizens of Transylvania!
Witness the origin story of one of legend's most captivating figures in the action-adventure, Dracula Untold. The year is 1462 and Transylvania has enjoyed a prolonged period of peace under the just and fair rule of the battle-weary Vlad III, the prince of Wallachia (Luke Evans, Fast & Furious 6, The Hobbit series). But when Sultan Mehmed II (Dominic Cooper, Captain America: The First Avenger) demands 1,000 of Wallachia's boys -- including Vlad's own son -- become child soldiers in his army, Vlad must enter into a Faustian bargain to save his family and his people. He gains the strength of 100 men, the speed of a falling star, and the power to crush his enemies. In exchange, he's inflicted with an insatiable thirst for human blood that could force him into a life of darkness and destroy all that he holds dear. A happily married couple (Marsha Mason and John Beck) find their lives thrown into frightening disruption when a stranger (Anthony Hopkins) appears at their door claiming that their adopted 12-year-old daughter (Susan Swift) contains the reincarnated spirit of his little girl. Although their daughter has been acting a little strange of late, they dismiss Hopkins as a crackpot. Then "things" start happening, and Hopkins keeps reappearing as a menacing figure, which has a deepening influence on the girl and an increasingly terrifying effect on the family. This haunting, psychological horror film was directed by a master of the genre: Robert Wise (THE HAUNTING).
Dracula Has Risen from the Grave
When a young girl is found hanging in the local church with fang marks in her neck, the townsfolk immediately suspect Dracula (Christopher Lee) is behind the evil deed. Although he has supposedly been dead for quite some time, the vile vampire is the prime suspect. The Monsignor (Rupert Davies) is called in to exorcise the local castle where Dracula once lived. The diabolical Dracula forces the holy man's assistant to help him in his thirst for blood. His next victim is the Monsignor's niece, who works at the local pub. The prince of darkness meets his demise when he is impaled on a crucifix -- at least until he can find another script that he and his agent can agree on.
