I thought for sure this would be one of my favorites of the year, but it just fell flat for me. The cinematography is beautiful, I will say that. But the performances and script left me wanting more. Also, I had just watched 'Saint Frances' the week before and it was almost identical except I thought SF was a much better film.

Incredible touching film. Cinematography and acting are both 10/10. There is some documentary peppered into the movie, with Phoenix and other cast interviewing real children in different cities across America, which I found to be a great juxtaposition to what was happening in the film. Phoenix, Gabby Hoffman, and Woody Norman had great chemistry too. I also loved how the dialogue seemed very “real” throughout the movie—the dialogue was written in a way that people actually talk.

This movie is iconic! If you love Joaquin as much as I do, I definitely recommend watching! Not to mention, Woody Norman's brilliant preformance! 100 out of 10! Wonderful acting, beautiful film!
