Censored Voices

November 201583 minutes

In June 1967, with armies from Egypt, Jordan and Syria amassed on its borders, Israel launched a pre-emptive strike and achieved a stunning victory in just six days, tripling its territory and leading to the birth of modern Israel. Unearthing previously censored audio recordings captured only a week after the Six-Day War, CENSORED VOICES reveals young Israelis, including best-selling author Amos Oz, candidly wrestling with the immediate aftermath of the victory, and finds them again fifty years later to reflect on the complicated legacy of Israel as the past again erupts into the present.
