About this movie

After an affair with a neighbor’s spouse, ESSUMAN becomes pregnant with his highly anticipated male child. Through a difficult delivery NUKU is born with a cleft lip prompting his father to reject the baby. Nuku is further diagnosed with cerebral palsy. ESSUMAN and NUKU are rejected by their would be family and made into pariahs by their community. She goes to great lengths ( from hospital to hospital, dubious medicine men, false prophets) and suffers tragic consequences in an attempt to find a cure for her son and regain a normal life. Pushed to the point of desperation, will she give into the pressures of her society and abandon her child in favor of a clean slate with a new love interest?

Sad, but very interesting and enjoyable movie with great cinematography. The movie captures your attention from the start. Very relatable movie about the sad part of human existence.

Apart from a few bad editings, this film is deep and thought provoking. Beautiful cinematic shots!
