There are many problems with this film, from the too-common “loser, middle-age White guy” character to normalizing genetic engineering and the stereotypical East Asian kid who can hack computers at seven years old. Worst of all, the movie does not honor the source material of the wonderful children's books. Hollywood really doesn't know anymore how to make good movies for young kids; sadly, the 1980s are long gone.
This movie is definitely for kids!. I didn't enjoy this movie at all, The only reason that I rented it is I read a bunch of Clifford "The Big Red Dog" books when I was a kid but I did enjoy the books when I was a kid though.
It may get younger viewers to sit and stay, but Clifford the Big Red Dog is nowhere near as charming as its classic source material, which is exactly why i watched it
