Movie is trash. I want my money back. Jeremy, you are an idiot. NATO 5.56 rounds from M4 carbine are not fabricated to be plucked out with a knife. The lead splinters upon penetration for max damage. Great sensationalism, though, Years in Iraq and you never heard of JSOC? Dude, what rock did you live under. JSOC is not the bad guys; nor are any of the US-mil warriors sent into harms way to protect the innocent. It is unfortunate that the blood of noncombatants is shed as we try to rid the earth of Jihadists who hide behind women and children. You ought to spend more time interviewing the families of lost JSOC warriors who made the ultimate sacrifice so you can enjoy the freedom to publish this trash. Your time would be better served.
This is absolutely hands down the best documentary I have ever seen and my life. Jeremy you are a genius and this other guy what's his name is Sean who wrote that stupid review of your very truthful and to the point movie. Dirty wars is actually the best movie I have ever seen. Maybe now a lot of people will finally see the truth about an our Obama administration. People like sean who don't know what they are talking about need to just keep their stupid comments to themselves. Thank you very much for your time and devotion. Ilove ypu!
Really question the directors motives I spent the 90's and 2000's doing the work this man derides. Maybe he should spend some time getting shot at while trying to protect school children. From the very men he says we are blowing their intention out of the pale. Sorry serve first then I might listen its easy behind the badge of a journalist .
HEART WRENCHING I didn't see where it stated the caliber of the bullets or the type of weapons as stated in a couple reviews, but as in all information it should be researched & CONFIRMED. I think it is & has been, for some time, known our gov. is less than truthful. Stunning to see the effects as great on others which puts our own betrayals from our gov. in perspective. Wish we could all come together and help get this country back to what is was meant to be. A shame we "let" a few RULE the massive without consequences.
This guy is retarded!! For one he is in a war zone and he has no idea what jsoc is? Also jsoc in not a unit as he states its a combination of units from all of the services with quite a few more than the couple thousand he states. Next women and children can be soldiers too ask the guys that went to somalia or Honduras for ahuas tara 1 & 2. Also we have been going into other countries for a long time without declaring war IE: Grenda,Panama,Kosovo,Boliva 88, and op prime chance from 87-88 and I sure don't remember war being declared. And if there was a hit on Al-Awlaki by sp ops, he would have been gone along time ago. This guy is awful!!
Our gov'T is not what it portrays to be Jeremy Scahill is an amazing investigative journalist who has proven himself time and time again. A true power of the people of the world. This film shows the truth of the drone war and Americas quest on its so called war on terror. Rowley with his amazing film work along with Scahills reporting keeps you on the edge of your seat. Boy do we love war... war on drugs, war on cancer, war on literacy, war on crime, war on poverty...
It takes guts to be a Real Journalist Contrary to blinded patriotic hawks, Jeremy Skahill, as a very young (true) journalist, had nothing to gain by revealing, documenting America's atrocities throughout the world. Kudos Jeremy.
Deeply disturbing, must see! This documentary depicts/details many of the same atrocities committed by the American govt/related participants that are revealed in the book of the same name. It seems well researched and is eye-opening. Sad. Deeply disturbing. Time well spent.
Great awakening!! Very thoughful and eye opening documentary. So many promises and so many lies. No respect at all for the santity of your home or your life. How sad to see how far and overreaching are the tentaculs of the USA
Garbage If a 5.56 round can be plucked out with a knife, shoot me. Less damage than a BB gun. Afghani's have been in a state of war for 40 yrs. First Soviets, then each other. All those idiots will shut up when these jihadists start blowing up your starbucks.
Good Documentary This documentary is very well documented and definitely gets you to ask questions. i am just kinda bummed that there is no ending to this like a real movie. lol. sadly it almost seems like reality and is hard to believe. gonna have to do my research and see whether or not this is all based on facts. The documentary is definitely interesting
Very well done Perfect balance of actual footage/interviews and reenactments. Very interesting topic and gives a raw insight into the corrupt decision-making involved in relations between the US and the Middle East. Will be looking out for more from this guy.
AnotherBias Doc Seems there are more facts based on stories and theories than real facts. Another person trying to make a name for himself while smearing all the good the US does to keep peace around the world. Where is Alex Jones here?
Another guy with a camera wants to make a movie. Do your research first. He obviously came in with a predetermined point of view. This isn't for anyone who is looking for research, its for people who want to entertain already made decisions.
Korengal picks up where Restrepo left off; the same men, the same valley, the same commanders, but a very different look at the experience of war. Korengal explains how war works, what it feels like and what it does to the young men who fight it. As one soldier cheers when he kills an enemy fighter, another looks into the camera and asks if God will ever forgive him for all of the killing he has done. As one soldier grieves the loss of his friend in combat, another explains why he misses the war now that his deployment has ended, and admits he would go back to the front line in a heartbeat. Every bit as intense and affecting as Restrepo, Korengal goes a step further in bringing the war into people's living rooms back home.
Equal parts infuriating and illuminating, THE KILL TEAM looks at the devastating moral tensions that tear at soldiers' psyches through the lens of one highly personal and emotional story. Private Adam Winfield was a 21-year-old soldier in Afghanistan when he attempted with the help of his father to alert the military to heinous war crimes his platoon was committing. But Winfield's pleas went unheeded. Left on his own and with threats to his life, Private Winfield was himself drawn into the moral abyss, forced to make a split-second decision that would change his life forever.
From his embed with US Marines Echo Company in Afghanistan, photojournalist and filmmaker Danfung Dennis reveals the devastating impact a Taliban machine-gun bullet has on the life of 25-year-old Sergeant Nathan Harris.
The Hornet's Nest is a groundbreaking and immersive feature film, using unprecedented real footage to tell the story of an elite group of U.S. troops sent on a dangerous mission deep inside one of AfghanistanÍs most hostile valleys. The film culminates with what was planned as a single day strike turning into nine intense days of harrowing combat against an invisible, hostile enemy in the countryÍs complex terrain where no foreign troops have ever dared to go before. Two embedded journalists, a father and son, bravely followed the troops through the fiercest and most blood-soaked battlegrounds of the conflict. What resulted is an intensely raw feature film experience that will give audiences a deeply emotional and authentic view of the heroism at the center of this gripping story.
