Kim Reed
Informative, fascinating and insightful. Kummel pulls back the curtain on what we eat, how it's treated and how our bodies react. She raises questions that should have simple answers, yet due to the vagueness of America's food regulating administrations, remain frustratingly unanswered. A must watch for celiacs, those who suffer from food allergies and people that just LOVE food and care to know more about where and HOW it's grown.

This comprehensive documentary relays important information which everyone who eats food should know. Among the topics covered are the probable causes of many food-related health problems, the difference between food allergy and food intolerance, and the challenges in diagnosing food-related health problems. The discussions of how most of America’s food is prepared stimulates viewers to think about the sources and safety of their food. The interviews of doctors, farmers, food researchers, and food allergy and/or intolerance sufferers bring to light the complexities and competing interests involved in present-day food production and regulation, as well the food choices consumers must make in the face of incomplete information. Towards the end of the documentary, the viewer is presented with a list of entities who refused to be interviewed—something worth thinking about. Kudos to Ms. Kummel, the writer, producer, and director of this documentary, who has given viewers a lot to chew on.
