Worth a watch. It was a perfectly ok movie with interesting ideas. I personally would not own it digitally or on a disc, but renting it is still very worth it. Nothing incredible compared to anime like "Your Name", but I think that it was pretty enjoyable to watch. I read and watched some reviews, and there is a generally low rating for this movie. I think that people rate "Fireworks" too low because they are comparing it to some of the best anime out there. Can't knock it till you try it. The reviews I saw made me expect a mediocre movie but I still had a great time.

The visuals were fantastic, but I just couldnt get attached to any of the characters to the point where I was bored most of the movie. The main characters main development is done through facial expressions and close ups on his eye which is done well but when he talks he really doesnt say anything.

Visually breathtaking, this is a film with enough emotion to touch even the heart of old cynics like me. A fantastic story about the choices made in life and how, maybe, we might change our fates. The characters are loveable and you really do root for them. A wonderful, and wonder-filled, anime you will watch more than once!
