Scarlett Johansson stars in the visually stunning Ghost in the Shell, an action-packed adventure set in a future world where people are enhanced with technology. Believing she was rescued from near death, Major (Johansson) becomes the first of her kind: a human mind inside an artificial body designed to fight the war against cyber-crime. While investigating a dangerous criminal, Major makes a shocking discovery – the corporation that created her lied about her past life in order to control her. Unsure what to believe, Major will stop at nothing to unravel the mystery of her true identity and exact revenge against the corporation she was built to serve.

Ratings and reviews

I didn't like the whitewashing with Matt Smith and Scarlet Johansson. However I will say she did a good job. They could have chosen the actress from Pacific Rim but unfortunately Hollywood needs "bankable stars" (stars they think will draw audiences). That aside visually, the movie is stunning, total cyberpunk vibes. This movie could have been so much more but that is to be expected with a Western adaptation. I enjoyed it. Yes it is flawed. Go into it with zero expectations, you'll enjoy it!

Great movie, Scarlett does an incredible job acting proving she is a definitive heroine. There does seem to be a lot of hating reviews. Not sure why. The movie was good, fast paced, good action and good story. I think it's probably a bunch of anime nerds who didn't like the casting. The movie is good and definitely worth your your watch.

Not as bad as I expected. The pacing is slow at times, but the story itself isn't bad. Stick with it if you're interested.
