About this movie

When Dr. Peter Venkman (BILL MURRARY) and his Columbia University colleagues (DAN AYKROYD, HAROLD RAMIS, ERNIE HUDSON) are kicked out of their prestigious academic posts, they start a private practice as professional ghost-catchers.Although the three para-scientists are idle for awhile, their television advertisements finally pay off when beautiful Dana Barrett (SIGOURNEY WEAVER) contracts them. It seems her apartment has become the entryway for ghastly ghosts and goofy ghouls hell bent on terrorizing New York City. Soon they're going to her rescue, trying to rid the city of the slimy creatures. GHOSTBUSTERS hit US screens in June of 1984 and went on to become one of the most successful comedy films of all time, spawning a sequel and a popular animated series. I watched this very young. Why is it that kids now cannot watch moderately scary films? I watched alien, predator, judge dredd & have not been made "violent". Do we shield them too much? I had a proton pack & used to get my brother to throw out the trap. This movie (accidently?) made kids share toys, play together fairly, taking turns & no one played a "better" character. It helped with my fear because you needed a dark room to see the trap & ghost projection from the toy. The movie is incredibly well made!

Snore - one of the most boring movies I've ever sat through,.... made the kids sit through it thinking "it was a classic" what a waste of a movie night together !!
