About this movie

When Harry Potter's name emerges from the Goblet of Fire, he becomes a competitor in a gruelling battle for glory among three wizarding schools- the Triwizard Tournament. Now Harry must confront a deadly dragon, fierce water demons and an enchanted maze only to find himself in the cruel grasp of He Who Must Not Be Named. In this fourth film adaptation of J.K. Rowling's Harry Potter series, everything changes as Harry, Ron and Hermione leave childhood forever and take on challenges greater than anything they could have imagined. ©HARRY POTTER characters, names and related indicia are trademarks of and © Warner Bros. The first 3 Harry Potter books/films are light entertainment. They show a young Harry Potter who gets by more by luck than judgement. From the Goblet of Fire onwards the books and films definitely get more sinister and more involved. People actually can and do die in the Harry Potter stories and not just bit part characters. Goblet of Fire as a book is a marked change from the previous stories. It is darker and more involved. It looks at the teenage relationships and introduces a really fearful dark lord. The book is far better but it has more time to be better as it has so many pages. The film is over 2 hours long and there is only so much you can fit into the film. The casting is however brilliant. Mad eye Moody is perfectly portrayed and the late great Alan Rickman leaves you completely unsure as to whether Snape is just a grumpy teacher or a real enemy. I think the director did well to give the clues about the real plot all the way through without being too obvious. If you found this film too dark and hard going you are in for a bumpy ride. It gets much tougher for Harry from here on out.

Although the weakest of the six Harry Potter movies I've watched so far, it's still pretty good. For flaws.... Watch movieflames video, he pretty much goes over everything.
