About this movie

For Evan McCauley (Mark Wahlberg), skills he has never learned and memories of places he has never visited haunt his daily life. Self-medicated and on the brink of a mental breakdown, a secret group that call themselves “Infinites” come to his rescue, revealing to him that his memories are real – but they are from multiple past lives. The Infinites bring Evan into their extraordinary world, where a gifted few are given the ability to be reborn with their memories and knowledge accumulated over centuries. With critical secrets buried in his past, Evan must work with the Infinites to unlock the answers in his memories in a race against time to save humanity from one of their own (Chiwetel Ejiofor) who seeks to destroy it.

I saw this quite some time ago on HBO. It is much better than what critics and many viewers say, but worth not more than 3 stars. But it makes at least as much sense as 90 % of what's running now in theatres or on streamers... Which is a tragedy in so many ways :-) But still, stupid to rate other even more stupid or purely propaganda movies and series higher.... The rating systems are manipulated - or the average rater is manipulated and brain washed. No other explanation.

It stinks,... it is just a rip off of the Highlander franchise, so badly done that the owners of Highlander know they can't get any money from it, so they aren't wasting their time to pursue a settlement. Besides it only makes Highlander look better than this crock of manure.

This movie was CARRIED by Chiwetel and a few other actors. He was amazing. For what it was, it was a good movie, something to pass time. It wasn't explained well, outside of people supposing to have good memories, and the characters weren't fleshed out AT all. When they died, I was confused as to their importance. Mark Wahlberg played confused most of the movie, and then got "serious," even then it wasn't a great performance. It felt hollow. 3* for sure. It's worth a <$2.99 rental, but no more.
