About this movie

In the last moments of World War II, a secret Nazi space program evaded destruction by fleeing to the Dark Side of the Moon. During 70 years of utter secrecy, the Nazis construct a gigantic space fortress with a massive armada of flying saucers. When American astronaut James Washington (Christopher Kirby) puts down his Lunar Lander a bit too close to the secret Nazi base, the Moon Führer (Udo Kier) decides the glorious moment of retaking the Earth has arrived sooner than expected. Two Nazi officers, ruthless Klaus Adler (Götz Otto) and idealistic Renate Richter (Julia Dietze), travel to Earth to prepare the invasion. In the end when the Moon Nazi UFO armada darkens the skies, ready to strike at the unprepared Earth, every man, woman and nation alike, must re-evaluate their priorities. © 2012 Blind Spot Pictures, 27 Film Productions, New Holland Pictures

It's disappointing that a movie that took so long to make, and really succeeded visually, was so terribly undermined by a plot that promises a lot in the beginning, but goes daisy picking for half the movie before getting to what all of us want to see. The subtle jabs at the USA were subtle at first, and amusing for sure, but toward the end that started to become the dominant theme of the movie, and it lost its way. When satire forgets to contain wit, it simply becomes preaching, and unfortunately, that's exactly how this movie turned out in the end. Overall, I was looking forward to this movie immensely, but after watching, I'd have to say, it's not worth the $4 to rent it. Don't bother.

A movie about moon Nazies should be mindless action and that's exactly what the trailers make it out to be. This film is in short a pompous art major's over blown critique which makes America look like a piece of shift every step of the way. Everything about this film is just so wtf why? The female president is a mockery of so many things that it makes my mind freeze up counting the lines she crosses. I felt the movie to be sexist and racist in the most backwards way possible in the use of its characters which were all mixtures of really cliche archetypes. Some films are so bad that they're entertaining but this one goes so far beyond that. You will actually sit through the credits after the movie is over because you will be too paralyzed from shock to do much more the stare in dumbfounded confusion. Now as the roommate who has just tasted the creature growing in the expired jug of milk and has recoiled from the overwhelming sensation of bad, I encourage you to watch this movie and learn for yourself the true extent of poor directing.

For what I expected it to be (as in going into the movie) it was fantastic and actually a good story. While highly racist, it was a movie about Nazi's. The action was good and the characters were well acted. The people whom wrote bad reviews need to lower their expectations. I really enjoyed it and it had a fantastic ending. My only complaint was the portrayal of Americans, while in some aspects it is true, the stupidity, arrogance, and over self pride/indulgence was a little much, but overall 4 - 4.5 stars.
