About this movie

Janis Joplin was one of the world’s most influential rock icons and a goddess of sound, but there was far more to her than that. Academy® Award nominated director Amy Berg strips away Janis’ rock ‘n roll persona to reveal the gentle, trusting, sensitive, but powerful woman behind the legend, in the quintessential story of the short, turbulent, and epic existence that changed music forever.
Interviews paint a new, intimate portrait of Janis the woman. Through turbulent and tormented love affairs, and stretches of drugs and sobriety, one constant remained: Janis was committed to her music above all until her heartbreaking demise and death at the age of 27.

love her voice, and in my opinion Janis, opened the door for all the other lady rockers, they are another movie, called the Rose with Bett Middler, playing a lady rocker, whitch to me is somewhat about Janis, give it a look also, but just think what Janis would have accomplished, if she had'nt have passed so young,
