About this movie

When Pinky (Deepika Padukone) a girl from the slums, loses her eyesight in an accident, she doesn’t lose her will and determination to reach the top. Nandu (Neil Nitin Mukesh), an underground boxing champ from the slums, decides to teach her how to see without eyes and help her roller skate her way to success.

But he’s hiding a secret that can destroy their new found relationship.

Set in the grungy streets of Mumbai, this is an edgy love story about the never-say-die spirit even when your last chip is down. An intriguing journey of a blindfolded street fighter and a blind dancer who, set out to achieve the impossible.

Aditya Chopra pulls off another great love story, but this one is a bit different than his usual. Though the story line is somewhat predictable, it is still entertaining watching Pinky achieve her dreams despite the odds and Nandu change his whole attitude towards life. The supporting cast all play their roles well. The film achieves a form of grittiness through excellent use of cool colors, gritty music and scenery. But even through that, the underlying love story is not lost. The soundtrack is excellent with weird bits of Celtic, gypsy and classical all thrown in and used at the most appropriate times. This story will have you bobbing around happy at the appropriate times and sad the next when things don't always go as expected. You will enjoy the triumph of the human spirit in this movie. Good for guys as well as gals

I will give it props for actually sticking to one plot & holding back from the usual tendency towards 3 to 4 plots in one movie. However you must be able suspend all logic to get past how she gets hit by a car & doesn't break her back but instead goes blind... you could do way worse for a bit of fluffy entertainment but definitely don't think too hard about anything.
