So first off, haters are going to hate. Every review that has a negative annotation on here for this movie is because it wasn't "action pact." Miami Vice is so much more than that. This movie essential was 20 years in the making going off the genius that Mr. Mann provided on Miami Vice the television show. Overall, the plot is great, the directing and scenery are supurb. The acting and relationship between Colin Farrell and Jamie Foxx is remarkable. And the final shootout still gives me shivers. Five stars.

The first few scenes give the basic feel for the entire movie. A closed cabin boat race in Miami harbour, a sting operation in a crowded nightclub, a drug deal gone bad with some wicked firepower, and some highway weaving and speeding in Sonny's gunmetal Ferrari F430 Spider, which shoots electric blue flames. Of course. This movie just oozes cool. You may need some knowledge in law enforcement lingo though. And a keen eye helps to make judgements on what is happening, but not necessarily described.

The movie was ok not as good as the series. Hard to replace Don Johnson as Sonny's character and Tubbs for that matter. Jamie Foxx did well and I felt that he was a decent choice as Tubbs. Colin Farrell although he is a decent actor and I like his movies but the person cast for Crockett's character should have been Sawyer from the series Lost. Just saying....
