This was terrible. The CGI was hard to watch - just blurs of color and wisps for most of the film. The storyline was weak. You could see the antagonist coming from the jump. There was no real build up or resolve. Jared Leto's performance was lackluster at best. Everyone performed like they ordered their SAG card from an ad in the back of a comic book; right next to the sea-monkeys. I wouldn't recommend this to anyone. It is no wonder this movie flopped twice in theaters.

It took the all so common twist at the half way point. 6 Actors and green screens. The process of who & when each part read and filmed is baked into the script. Nothing left to chance because the odds of creating a likable movie enough to coup some profit are almost guaranteed to the investors. Very shallow and empty but its not the actors fault. I can see some liking this and some not. Everyone around the film made cash. All is good.

I put off seeing this one in the theater, and wish I'd put off buying it entirely, and just rented, instead. It's a throwback to 90s comic book movies, and not in a good way. The origin is ridiculous, the characters' motivations ONLY exist to create plot points, none of them (except maybe Jared Harris) are interesting in the least. The effects are meh, but not in quality, more like just "why does bat DNA make your clothes turn into smoke?" It's just not good. Well, pacing. The pacing was good.
