About this movie

A corporate troubleshooter (Kate Mara) is sent to a remote, top-secret location, where she is to investigate and evaluate a terrifying accident. She learns the event was triggered by a seemingly innocent “human,” who presents a mystery of both infinite promise and incalculable danger.

Funny that everyone pans this movie and laud Ex Machina with so much praise when they're basically the exact same movie. Neither was particularly strong in my opinion. I actually think that this story touched more on the subjects and themes that Ex Machina tried to address such as what is consciousness , love , the soul yada yada yada. The twist if you can call it that was pretty anti climactic . At least Brian Cox makes a one minute cameo at the end so we can at least pretend we VE been watching a heavyweight movie.

It was a lot better when I watched the trailer. I felt like they could have taken it further. Needed it to be a bit more orginal. seen better. Congratulations on the twist. Caught me off gurad. But it really needs expanding.

If you're expecting an all-action affair, then you may be better off with Marvel or Terminator. If you want a more measured and slow-building offering, then this cleverly scripted movie may just be for you. I enjoyed it.
