About this movie

Winner of two Academy Awards®, including Best Animated Freature. Carl Fredrickson, a retired balloon salesman, is part rascal, part dreamer who is ready for his last chance at high-flying excitement. Tying thousands of balloons to his house, Carl sets off to the lost world of his childhood dreams. Unbeknownst to Carl, Russell, an overeager 8-year old Wildnerness Explorer who has never ventured beyond his backyard, is in the wrong place at the wrong time -- Carl's front porch! The world's most unlikely duo reach new heights and meets fantastic friends like Dug, a dog with a special collar that allows him to speak, and Kevin, the rare 13-foot tall flightless bird. Stuck together in the wilds of the jungle, Carl realizes that sometimes life's biggest adventures aren't the ones you set out for.

Here is one of the few movies that follow the heart instead of the almighty mojority craving that so many gravitate towards - money. This guy is old school with old school values and refuses to move over - or in this case - move out - for the almighty $ !!! It shows moral values over money and I for one am glad to see and have my kids learn from a movie like this! Yes there are parts that are "adult humor and content but thats where us as parents need to be watching with our kids and guiding them! ♡

The movie 'UP' completely amazes me with its quality and true representation of what one experiences throughout life. It is funny, sad, heart wrenching and realistic. It's just an all-around wonderful movie! For children this movie may be a little bit long in the beginning, but nothing that would keep them from staying entertained. The kids love the end of the movie. Do not hesitate to watch, especially with grandparents. I couldn't wait to share this movie with my Dad and even my grandparents. :)

One of my favorites; I love animated films but my husband isn't fond of most but "UP" he's watched a # of times. And it will always be 'special', it was my mother's favorite; she watched it over & over again while she was dying from breast cancer at age 59. This movie gave her laughter & comfort, she said 'it showed that loss of the one you love is hard but with time one will 'pick up his house' & find new reasons to live & be joyful.' Always special in my heart!
