Punarmilan (1957) Tollywood film stars Uttam Kumar and Manju Dey as the lead pair. Music of the feature film is drected by Kalipada Sen. The story is as Shibu and Naren are childhood friends. They continue their friendship even in their old age. They even plan to convert themselves into in-laws as Naren's son Jayanta gets married to Shibu's daughter Maya. Shibu has three able sons-Ramesh Suresh and Vabesh. Ramen the elder brother earns the most as he works in a merchant farm. Suresh on the other hand is professor and is the intellectual of the family. Vabesh and his wife they are the most liveliest and the simplest couple of the three. With increasing income greed increases, which ultimately leads to the separation of the families. But Maya, a strong girl is not ready to accept this so easily. She along with his lover Jayanta makes a ploy. They publish an ad in the newspaper that their father Shibu is going to sell their house. Frustrated with his family he is even going to donate his savings of fifty thousand rupees to some charitable organistaion. This news shakes the families of Ramesh and Suresh alike as they rush back to Shibu. Thus we get to see the happy reunion of families.
In the climax the icing on the cake is provided by Maya-Jayanta marriage.
