I 1st saw this film in a 4DX cinema. It was a real roller coaster (the film actually is but there's a 4DX pun too). I have come to love this film now. The thing is, I only fell in love when I watched it for the 2nd time on Play. Now don't get me wrong, it's full of amazing moments with funny dialogue, iconic shots, & poster moments for any Star wars film. The production is strong and the story is surprisingly good with a lot going on. It just has this brief oddity which knocked me the first time around. After much off the film had passed this odd moment occured. You'll know it when you see it but it's really trivial & when you get over it you'll realise how great this Star Wars film is. The cast was excellent, I salute them all. Thankfully, Young Han was great. Big nod to the supporting cast too, all of them were solid. It's all building nicely toward the Han Solo we first met in a Mos Eisley Cantina. The story potential between this film & A New Hope is massive & I strongly believe The Solo story must continue with a trilogy. Remember, 2 viewings to fall in love and it will be with you ...always (seen it 8 times now).

Thought was OK but was expecting it to be as good as the first star wars story Rogue one. I thought my main problem was trying to.compare the new.solo character to Harrison Fords which nobody else could do.but the man himself. It was OK but I could help thinking the film.would. have looked.better with a digital young Harrison Ford in it like in rogue one when they added the young Carried Fisher in the white hooded robe at the end. The Chewbbacca scenes were great and some of the new aliens looked better than any of the star wars movies put together.

I am not a massive Star Wars fan although I do enjoy the films. Nothing will ever compare to the original Star Wars movie that I saw in the cinema with my father when I was just 11 years old and that blew my mind, there was no CGI back in those days and when I have watched programs on how the original movie was made it makes it even more amazing. The original story was solid and well thought out and the casting was simply superb with stellar performances by each and every one of them. Subsequent Star Wars movies have always been enjoyable and usually have some substance to the storylines but really rely on advanced CGI to give you that emersion and wow factor, great eye candy and plenty of action. I cannot fault "Solo" as for me it was nice to see how Han became friends with Chewbacca and how he obtained the Millenium Falcon. It was action packed and there was a nice use of humor that reminded me of Harrison Ford in the original, the CGI was faultless and I think that it was well cast. I would not have known that it was a Disney production and not a George Lucas/Lucas Arts production Very enjoyable with lots of action and eye candy and a great escape from reality.
