About this movie

The greatest adventure of all time begins with Star Trek, the incredible story of a young crew's maiden voyage onboard the most advanced starship ever created: the U.S.S. Enterprise. On a journey filled with action, comedy and cosmic peril, the new recruits must find a way to stop an evil being whose mission of vengeance threatens all of mankind. The fate of the galaxy rests in the hands of bitter rivals. One, James Kirk (Chris Pine), is a delinquent, thrill-seeking Iowa farm boy. The other, Spock (Zachary Quinto), was raised in a logic-based society that rejects all emotion. As fiery instinct clashes with calm reason, their unlikely but powerful partnership is the only thing capable of leading their crew through unimaginable danger, boldly going where no one has gone before. I was the only member of the group who had seen anything Trek since TOS and while everyone enthused about the "Seamless Reboot" (it wasn't) and how good the actors were (they weren't) I stated the obvious, the story made no sense and was divorced from Trek Lore. The physics make no sense. The special fx were quite literally an eyesore, and the humour was so far off the mark it was tragic. If you like Trek, or well written movies, or well acted and directed movies, just watch Wrath of Khan. The real one.

Movie is great.. bought it on special waaaay back when Google Play Movies first started. Issue with the store not the movie - I bought SD, now I want to upgrade it to HD, but I can't. I can't even buy HD again at full price - permanently stuck with an SD version of a movie I'd love to have a proper version of :/
