About this movie

In postwar Germany in 1946, Rachael Morgan (Keira Knightley) arrives in the ruins of Hamburg to be reunited with her husband Lewis (Jason Clarke), a British colonel who's rebuilding the city. Rachael learns they now share their home with a German widower (Alexander Skarsgård) and his troubled daughter. In this charged setting, enmity and grief give way to passion and betrayal.

I highly recommend this movie to anyone who's a fan of Kiera Knightley & her roles in any of her previous films. It's a beautiful, bittersweet story about love, loss, heartache, happiness, unjust hatred, bitterness, the Holocaust, & the "aftermath" that was brought on by the monster aka Hitler. The movie moves a little slow so that it can fully develop. It's well worth the watch just based on the stellar cast alone, not to mention how incredibly beautiful, sad, & unpredictable this story/movie is.

Practically anything with Keira Knightley is pretty darn good. There's something about her acting (not just her good looks) that draws you in. I think she's very good... keeps you intrigued. She has this stage presence that's interesting.
