Howard Hughes wasn't crazy. With as many aircraft wrecks as he had survived he developed nerve damage and became a recluse because there was no treatment for the pain he was in. Today, his condition could have been treated but back then his only option was to turn to drugs like opiates. This is nothing more than a pale attempt by Hollywood to extract revenge on a man they saw as a threat. He was a true genius and this moving is a complete rewrite of history. I ask you to research the man and skip this movie...

It was a well done movie...although I wonder how they knew all the intricate details and conversations he may have had with the people he knew personally. Maybe he had written an autobiography when he was alive or something...

I provided the story for the Aviator, not every little episode, but the big ones. I stopped Spencer Tracy's homosexuality from being displayed in the film, substituting heterosexual activity on his part and Ms Hepburn's. So, yes I played fast and loose with the facts, but only to further American interests here. I established that Mr. Hughes was a great aviator and a great American patriot. That was my goal and I achieved it. Of course, Harvey's yet to pay me a dime. I assured the film an appreciative audience, yes taking some liberties, but both for the success of the enterprise, vehicle for the hopes and dreams of the cast, and for the greater good of the American people. Just as I always do. And didn't everyone, especially Mr. DiCaprio and his leading ladies, do a great job?
