This is a movie with some very glaring issues. Questionable acting and really bad CGI being the two things that took me out the most. The CGI is really just unnecessary. The movie does well with creating a sense of atmosphere and is at its strongest when it's letting that sink in. It tries to adapt it's source material as well as it can. What you get is a decent, kinda wonky adaption of a classic that is still entertaining even if it just a bit pretentious and not scary.
