Completely unfaithful. Takes ideas from Seven epic books, deletes all the main characters and waters everything down to this rubbish. Two brilliant performances from Elba and Mcconaughey, though they could not save this train wreck. Story is vague and generic enough to allow for cool ideas from the book series. Left feeling like an empty shell of a movie with no characters to actually care about. Flat. Cool visuals. Empty. Don't waste your time.

The story was right there. Stephen King gave you 8 movies, maybe even 9, perfect stories that would have made amazing films. And then Hollywood did what it always does with great storytelling. They dragged it through the dirt, stamped on it's face, laughed, and then covered up the damage with a hour and a half of below average CGI. The cast would have been fine, with a decent script. The script would have been fine, with decent editing. The editing choices were reminiscent of the kind of work I did in my first year at University. Horrible. Amateur. Pointless at times, incongruous at others. And the final scene made a complete farce of what little story there was left in the hack job done on the original material. I really wanted this movie to be at least ok. I love these books, I love great story telling and I love adventure movies. This atrocity of a "film" should be wiped from history.
