The Ambassador of the small South American country of Miranda is trafficking in drugs with some French bourgeois friends of his. But every time they want to have dinner together, their plans are put off due to unexpected events. In their quest of a lavish feast, the dividing-line between reality and dreams becomes unclear for each guest, leading to complete and utter ridicule.

Charming! This movie was entertaining and had that old, French movie feel. It was silly and irreverent. I though the dream tropes were interesting. For the time and likely small budget, the movie holds up. It's definitely worth the watch. Caption matched up well.

In this film the line between dream and reality is made unclear, as various characters forming the main group of six bourgeois figures all cycle between nightmare and their lives. As such their decadence, inability to shed outdated formalism, and grotesque views on the world are allowed all the more to shine.
