About this movie

A mafia boss and his family are relocated to a sleepy town in France under the Witness Protection Program after breaking the sacred code and snitching on his crew. However, despite Agent Stansfield's (Tommy Lee Jones) best efforts to keep them in line, Fred Blake (Robert DeNiro), his wife Maggie (Michelle Pfeiffer) and their children can't help but resort to old habits by handling all their problems the "family" way. But the Mob doesn't forget and, as his old crew closes in on their location, chaos ensues and old scores are settled as Fred is caught in the middle of a life-or-death showdown between his two families. 2013 EuropaCorp - TF1 Films Production - Grive Productions. Director: Luc Besson. Producer: Martin Scorcese. An amazing movie. The poor critic ratings are just a reflection of the misunderstanding of the nature of the movie. It is a movie about the Mafia, but with a different view angle: a satire of the genre (in my opinion). All the rules of the genre have been twisted. It is brilliantly written and brillantly acted by actors who have played in classical Mafia-genre movies.

You really won't require any thinking to watch this film, you could probably miss most of it, come back and not even need to ask "what did I miss". It's predictable and rather violent. But not worth the rental price.
