In 2004 at the height of the 2nd war in Iraq, Corporal Jason L. Dunham threw himself on a live grenade to protect the lives of his squad mates. He was posthumously awarded the Medal of Honor, the first Marine recipient since the Vietnam War. The Gift is not just his story, but the story of the lives of his parents since his death, and the story of lives of the men he saved that day.

Truly one of the most moving documentaries I’ve ever watched. Cpl Jason Dunham is my hero, and all-American warrior, and one of the most loving people I’ve ever known. The producers did the best job in portraying who Jason was, and telling of the incredible sacrifice he made by jumping on a grenade to save his Marines. His mom and dad speak in this, and it’s the most beautiful story of love you’ll ever hear. Jason, this documentary, and this story as a whole is all a Gift from God! Get Kleenex!
