About this movie

In the tradition of Amblin classics where fantastical events occur in the most unexpected places, Jack Black and two-time Academy Award® winner Cate Blanchett star in The House with a Clock in Its Walls. The magical adventure tells the spine-tingling tale of 10-year-old Lewis (Owen Vaccaro), who goes to live with his uncle in a creaky old house with a mysterious tick-tocking heart. But his new town's sleepy façade jolts to life with a secret world of warlocks and witches. Based on the beloved children's classic book.

Kids should not be actors in general. They always ruin everything. Also, I am very conservative and I fail to see any religious ties. Maybe some insecure parents need to go back to Church and strengthen their faith. It is Just a movie and not real life. Stop looking for symbolism where there isn't any. Take in a refugee and tell your damn brats to stop whining for candy at the store during Halloween.

I wouldn't say pass on this movie because it was ok, but the actors (outside of Jack Black) were not great. The kids were not convincing in their roles, and the 2 main kid actors were not good. I hate saying that but it's unfortunately true. The scenes with the kids alone were pretty painful, but I feel like a lot of that is on the writer/directors for using such lame and predictable banter. Luckily Jack Black is in a lot of the scenes and he honestly pulls this movie along. I liked the concept, but the actual movie was a little generic and was held back by the writing/directing and the kid actors. I probably won't watch it again, but if you like Jack Black you may want to give it a try.

The only thing good about this movie was jack black. This should be rated pg 13. me and my 8 year old sis saw it with me, and she could not sleep at all because of nightmares😕👿. PARENTS... If you have kids under 15 and are wanting to use this movie for family movie night, do not.
