Peter Jackson's award-winning "The Lord of the Rings Trilogy" now includes all three films as Extended Editions: The Fellowship of the Ring Extended Edition, The Two Towers Extended Edition, and The Return of the King Extended Edition. The Trilogy tells a story of a meek hobbit of The Shire and eight companions setting out on a journey to Mount Doom to destroy the One Ring and the dark lord Sauron.

On your PC, YouTube will not play the films in 4K even if you have a compatible monitor. Nor will it work with PS5. I had to use the app built into my LG 4K TV, although you have to manually turn the resolution up to 2160p from the default 720p. I agree that it's not great, but no other streaming service will sell you these films and let you watch them in 4K, so hats off to Google for providing a solution. And £19.99 is a great price compared to £50 for the 4K Blu-Ray box set.

I had no problems watching in 4k on YouTube and casting to my Google TV dongle. Playing via the Google play app didn't seem to play in 4k though, so definitely watch via YouTube if you buy this. You can find it here: YouTube app > Library > Movies and shows > Purchases.

I've been waiting a while for this box set to become available in 4k. Finally it's here! Fantastic movies. 1* to Google though. It's a shame Google doesn't allow you play 4k content via YouTube. My Samsung tv used to have Google play inbuilt but that's even been removed and stopped by Google. It's a scam that i have to buy chromecast with google tv which is £60 in order to enjoy this properly in 4k otherwise I'm limited to hd only. Boo hoo
