The Matrix is a movie that broke the rules of cinematography and took filming in a whole different direction. Although the book was a lot better, mostly because of the battery direction they went in the movie. I still think this movie should be praised for being completely different from anything that came before it, also fast forwarding film with a whole new genre. The CGI has not aged well, but thank the gods there are not many scenes in the "real world" so it doesn't kill the movie entirely. The Matrix is a classic hands down, and needs to be watched more than once to enjoy the many things that are in the background and foreground. Definitely an A+ for this one

One of the best sci-fi movies ever to be made. The second and third movies were not good (the direction was more special effects at the sacrifice of story). But the first movie was a masterpiece, and set the ground for what could have been.
