In an effort to heal after witnessing her sister's horrific murder, Nic, her younger sister Annie and two close friends travel to a remote Pacific Island for a kayaking and diving adventure. The trip departing eight months after the life shattering event which has left Nic struggling with grief and PTSD. Only hours into their expedition, the women find themselves stalked and then attacked by a Great White shark. With the group traumatized, Annie spies' children swimming off an island - they must warn them and get them out of the water. Rescuing the children, they discover the island has no communications and medical services are on the next island. The group left no choice but to traverse the dangerous waters to the neighbouring island to seek help for a young girl that needs urgent medical attention. The fastest and only way there an old narrow runabout. To keep the runabout stable they attach their kayaks either side and head off with the Great White in close proximity stalking the group. But their plan goes terribly wrong, and they are left being circled by the giant shark. Discovering an old fishing net in the boat's bow Nic forms another plan. As the shark comes into attack, the women throw the net to entangle the shark. In the ensuing chaos, Annie becomes trapped in the net and is slowly pulled closer and closer to the shark and it's menacing jaws. To survive, the women will need to band together, and Nic will have to overcome her post-traumatic stress, face her fears, and slay a monster.
