About this movie

The Gay Games: where the world's hottest LGBTQ+ athletes converge for an extravaganza of sports and spectacle. The Shiny Shrimps, Paris' worst gay water polo team have their hearts set on taking part, but there's a problem; they're not exactly athletes. Preferring 'man on man' to 'man to man' action, the Shrimps will need more than just their (flawless) choreography and sass to qualify for the games, they'll need to beat fearsome lesbian rivals, The Lumberjacks. Salvation comes from an unlikely place; after making a homophobic remark on live TV, World Silver Medalist swimmer Matthias Le Goff is offered redemption by training up the fabulous but feckless Shrimps, how hard can it be? Matthias is plunged into an unfamiliar world of sparkles and shrimp speedos. As he watches the Shrimps flail and fail, Matthias sees his dreams of redemption disappear. Initially apathetic about his impossible task, he eventually succumbs to the Shrimps' charms. As he is absorbed into their family, Matthias is forced to take a fresh look at himself and rethink his priorities. When he's offered the chance to get back on top, at the expense of the Shrimps, will he take it?

Simple feel-good story. It's good-natured and entertaining, but there's nothing particularly deep about this film.

Funny story about LGBT team, kind of fun and sadness but that's why I love that movie.
