Journey with the 'New Men' as they progress through a 9 month gauntlet of instruction, correction, and the endless pursuit of perfection. Watch as these soldiers are exposed to the rich history and honorable traditions of the brotherhood of Sentinels who guard the Tomb, as they learn what it means to protect our Nation's Patriots amidst America's most hallowed grounds.

I worked as a guide in Arlington National Cemetery for three years. Sometimes I was able to watch this very moving and truly awe inspiring ceremony. The men and women of The Old Guard are on duty at the Tomb in the rain..heat....thunderstorms...blizzards..allweather. These Soldiers are there 24/7. They walk 21 paces from one side of the Tomb to the other..symbolic of the 21 gun salute.

How can you not love this. This is the untimate act of patriotism, honor, respect and sacrifice. These soldiers are the 1% of the 1%. On guard 24 hours a day 365 days a year in any weather. This is the greatest honor in the U.S Army to stand guard and go through this and to be chosen. They take duty to the extreme. Amazing amazing amazing. Amazing.
