Street-smart thief Nathan Drake (Tom Holland) is recruited by seasoned treasure hunter Victor “Sully” Sullivan (Mark Wahlberg) to recover a fortune lost by Ferdinand Magellan 500 years ago. What starts as a heist job for the duo becomes a globe-trotting, white-knuckle race to reach the prize before the ruthless Moncada (Antonio Banderas), who believes he and his family are the rightful heirs. If Nate and Sully can decipher the clues and solve one of the world's oldest mysteries, they stand to find $5 billion in treasure and perhaps even Nate's long-lost brother...but only if they can learn to work together.

Ratings and reviews

A fun family popcorn flick. My expectations weren't high for this but it pleasantly surprised. Stayed close enough to the origin story from the games but tweaked enough and filled in some gaps, and so kept it feeling fresh. It did have a couple of silly moments but nothing that spoiled the fun. The cast wouldn't have been my choice but it makes sense for Sony Pictures and they did a good job. Loved the little Easter eggs and it even got my two girls interested in the games.

Don't listen to any buzz - this was great, setting up a sequel. Yes, it's somewhat predictable but it was entertaining and the cast were great. At this point, I think a lot of adventure films are predictable. Another film that was good and predictable and adapted from a game was Sonic The Hedgehog. Don't miss out.

A great adventure movie, with loads of game Easter eggs. Maybe not everyone's cup of tea, but if you love the uncharted games you will like this..
