About this movie

Two brothers face the fight of a lifetime - and the wreckage of their broken family - within the brutal, high-stakes world of Mixed Martial Arts (MMA) fighting in the action/drama, WARRIOR.
Haunted by a tragic past, ex-Marine Tommy Conlon returns home for the first time in fourteen years to enlist the help of his father to train for SPARTA, the biggest winner-takes-all event in mixed martial arts history. A former wrestling prodigy, Tommy blazes a path toward the championship while his brother Brendan, an ex-fighter-turned teacher, returns to the ring in a desperate bid to save his family from financial ruin. But when Brendan's unlikely, underdog rise sets him on a collision course with the unstoppable Tommy, the two brothers must finally confront each other and the forces that pulled them apart, facing off in the most soaring, soul stirring, and unforgettable climax that must be seen to be believed 2011 Lionsgate Films Inc. Little more than a two-fer Rocky scenario, this story of estranged underdog brothers IS what everyone says it's not, an excuse to update the 'boxing' match from movies like The Fighter and transplant that tired old fight genre with a superficial story of two brothers separated by a bad dad. There is no character study, which a film like this otherwise depends on since it's supposed to be about the relationship between the brothers, but it's balance is all off, and its unlikely victor is a case of bad casting as much as awful writing to come up with its end result. Watch it on Netflix, don't waste your money. There is much better out there. If you're into MMA then it might be worth a viewing over a six-pack otherwise go for a walk or feed your goldfish.

It's not a perfect film. But I've seen it twice. It's very good. Hits you right in the feels too. It's not really a mma film - It's a family drama that shows the dynamic of two brothers who had an abusive drink as a father growing up. It also shows the different paths each brother took in the wake of a life changing moment. Watch this. You won't be disappointed.
