That kid is still on the escalator! Mallrats is by far my favorite Kevin Smith movie. The Jay and silent Bob movies are my least favorite. If this helps you at all your in luck, if not, I'm sorry I failed you.
Classic Kevin Smith movie. Hope Mallrats 2 is coming out sooner than later. I haven't laughed so hard since the original Clerks. Clerks 2 was awesome the clerics is just magnificent piece of Comedy. Mallrats is also one of the best movies I watch that is a comedy and will always remain number one to me. Also a classic Cameo by Stan Lee.
Chasing Amy is the third installment in the "New Jersey Trilogy" from award-winning writer-director Kevin Smith (Clerks, Mallrats, Dogma). Cult comic-book artist Holden (Ben Affleck) falls in love with fellow artist Alyssa (Joey Lauren Adams), only to be thwarted by her sexuality, the disdain of his best friend Banky (Jason Lee), and his own misgivings about himself. Filled with Smith's unique ear for dialogue and insight into relationships, Chasing Amy offers a thoughtful, funny look at how perceptions alter lives, and how obsession and self-doubt skew reality.
When best buddies Jay and Silent Bob discover that a major motion picture is being based on their likenesses, the dopey duo head for hollywood to claim the movie money the deserve. Packed with stars, including Ben Affleck, Chris Rock, Jason Lee, and more!
Ten years ago best friends Dante Hicks and Randal Graves were New Jersey mini-mall clerks still slacking off together in their early 20s. Now, Kevin Smith checks back in to see what kind of changes have rocked their lives -- in work, romance and their eternally raucous life philosophy.
Hollywood favorites Ben Affleck (The Town) and Liv Tyler (The Strangers) shine in this heartwarming all-star comedy about a guy who thinks he's lost it all, only to discover he's got everything he needs. Ollie (Affleck) is a smooth and successful big-city publicist who has the life he's always wanted - until things take an unexpected turn and he finds himself and unemployed single father back living with his dad in the suburbs. but just when he thinks his life has hit rock bottom, a sexy, no-nonsense video store clerk (Tyler) enters his life and shows Ollie that sometimes you have to forget who you thought you were and acknowledge what really makes you happy. Also starring Jennifer Lopez (The Back Up Plan) and Jason Biggs (My Best Friend's Girl) - director Kevin Smith (Zack and Miri Make a Porno) has delivered another critically-acclaimed hit.
Lifelong platonic friends Zack (Rogen) and Miri (Banks) look to solve their respective cashflow problems by making an adult film together. As the cameras roll, however, the duo begin to sense that they may have more feelings for each other than they previously thought.
MUMFORD has a first rate ensemble cast including Ted Danson, Martin Short, Mary McDonnell, Jason Lee, and Alfre Woodard. When a would-be psychologist, curiously named Dr. Mumford (Loren Dean), comes to the idyllic town of the same name and offers his talent for listening and a disarming frankness, the town's quirkiest citizens scramble for a seat on his couch. As he lightens hearts darkened by old secrets -- including those of the beautiful and troubled Sofie Crisp (Hope Davis) -- no one realizes he's hiding a whopper of his own, or that he's fallen head over heels for one of his patients! Filled with personality disorders, surprises, offbeat alliances, and some hilarious fantasies.
Just another day. But what a day. A day that shows a lighter side to life in the 'hood. That brought Ice Cube and Chris Tucker to a wider audience. And that's now even more uproarious in an Extended Director's Cut never before available. It's Friday, and Craig (Cube) and Smokey (Tucker) must come up with $200 they owe a local bully or there won't be a Saturday.
Hard-core rapper Ice Cube, after appearing in such hard-hitting films as Boyz 'N the Hood and Higher Learning, played his first comic role in this picture he co-wrote with frequent musical collaborator DJ Pooh. Craig (Ice Cube) manages to get fired on his day off (though he claims it's through no fault of his own) and spends the day hanging out with his buddy Smokey (Chris Tucker) and trying to avoid his father (John Witherspoon), who wants him to find another job immediately. Smokey (whose name might have something to do with his tremendous fondness for marijuana) has even more serious problems; he was given $200 worth of weed to sell by Big Worm (Faizon Love), but he ended up smoking it instead, and if he can't come up with the money by the end of the day, he'll be in a world of hurt (and will put Craig in the same place just for being his friend). And Deebo (Tom "Tiny" Lister, Jr.), a gargantuan bully who roams the neighborhood on his bicycle, has it in for Craig, while Craig tries his best just to stay out of his way. As one would expect, Friday features a strong hip-hop soundtrack, featuring tracks by such artists as Dr. Dre, Cypress Hill, Mack 10, and Funkdoobiest, as well as old-school R&B selections from The Isley Brothers, Roger, and Rose Royce.
Best friends Harry and Moe are go-getters inside a Newark mob outfit. They go get the boss's drycleaning. They go get his car. Now they have a new task: go get each other. The boss has secretly hired each pal to whack the other. Brian De Palma, whose Scarface and Carlito's Way are mobster-movie classics, finds the genre's funny bone in a comedy "filled with ideas and gags and great characters. It never runs dry" (Roger Ebert, Chicago Sun-Times). Dan Hedaya and Harvey Keitel are among the ensemble's portrayers of kingpins and palookas. And Danny DeVito and Joe Piscopo play the pals whose friendship might survive the mob - if they don't kill each other first. MPAA Rating: R (c) 1986 A Warner Bros. Entertainment Inc.
