Underrated Bond This is one of the best Bond films of them all. I would take George over Roger any day. Great presence on screen and the ending is so emotional i didnt see it coming. If you like the Craig's Bond for the rough yet vulnerable character you should enjoy this film.
One of the best I'm a Bond fan, I have all the Bond Movies on DVD. George Lazenby would have made a great bond if he didn't leave, he would have made more Bond Movies, Diana Rigg helped him out as he couldn't really act but he tried his best. Diana and George became good friends but the thing I want to know on DVD and Blu-ray they added more scenes which on video was 127mins but on DVD and Blu-ray 9mins has been added making it 136mins as well as Quality and Sound. Now on here I see an extra 6mins has been added.
My favorite bond film Although Lazenby's accent is average at the best of times, he equips himself well in the role bringing out the more gritty side of Bond that we'd later see again in "For Your Eyes Only", "The Living Daylights" and the Craig Bond films. But Diana Rigg and Telly Savalas really steal the show in the most faithful adaptation of Ian Fleming's work until 2006's Casino Royale.
Overrated by a mile When fans back then learned that George Lazenby would replace Sean Connery, they went nuts. So the producers made sure that everything else was absolutely spectacular...and it worked, somewhat. The action was great for the time albeit a little confusing, the villian was memorable and the setting was beautiful. Everything was perfect, except for one thing a lot of movies have trouble with: it is absolutely boring most of the time. At least the fighting was more convincing than Live And Let Die's.
George Lazenby is underrated as 007. George Lazenby did not have any acting experience (He was a model at the time) but he was really good as James Bond. I wish Albert Broccoli would have worked with George a little more. Plus, OHMSS is another underrated Bond film.
One of the best Bond films of all time, based on its staying fairly true to Fleming's original novel and Savalas' portrayal of Blofeld. Lazenby is one of the more underrated 007s, and would've been better had he not left after one film. Like many have said before, it would be considered the best of the series if Connery had stayed on. Still, this movie grabs and keeps your attention. Isn't that the mark of a good James Bond film? It's better than Connery's last two, both of Dalton's, and some of Moore's. That puts it pretty high on my list.
Personally, I don't really rate George. However, I do give him credit for the fact that he did all his own stunts. Overall, I believe that this is quite an underrated Bond film. The storyline was decent and I thought it was well based on the book, OHMSS, by Ian Fleming. Diana Rigg was amazing as Teresa (Tracy) and I thought the whole film was well set out in terms of the various events that took place! Worth buying!
If George Lazenby stayed, he would of got better. Really good Bond outing with realistic plot of germ warfare scheme. For a person with 0 acting experience, Lazenby is not bad. It would of been nice for Connery to be in this and then let Lazenby could of been in diamonds are forever.
Excellent! One of the most under rated movies in history. It was an outstanding movie and didn't get the credit it deserved. If your a fan of classic movies, then On Her Majesty's Secret Service is a must see film.
