About this movie

Albert Markovski (Jason Schwartzman), head of the Open Spaces Coalition, has been experiencing an alarming series of coincidences that have lead him to fall under the influence of nihilistic competitor Brad Stand (Jude Law); an executive climbing the corporate ladder at Huckabees - a popular chain of retail superstores. With the help of two Existential Detectives, Bernard and Vivian Jaffe (Dustin Hoffman and Lily Tomlin), Albert examines his life, his relationships, and his conflict with Brad.

Awesome existential wit with quantam physics lesson thrown in almost casually . I loved this movie I thought it was wonderful, thoughtful , in fact earth shaking at moments. This movie, this brilliant , funny, tender movie seems to touch on all that seems important. Five stars is not enough. Hilarious in one moment and heartbreaking in the next , it is a Rollercoaster ride into the id. Thank you, Filmmaker Russell and Cast for making a fabulous film about subjects other's wouldn't dare to touch!

This movie was recommended to me by a friend - with such a stellar cast, you'd think that this would have received more attention. But I guess the whole "existential / identity crisis" thing doesn't have the same kind of mass appeal, that say, Independence Day with Will Smith might have. Nonetheless, this is a great watch, with some great performances by every actor. The script is delicious. "How am I not myself?"

Just a funny way to express some deep concepts. Love this movie. Dustin Hoffman is like the crazy uncle. Markie mark is confused (his best emotion). If you dont get some joy from this movie then I don't want you in my life anymore. You know who you are.
