When Calls The Heart: The Dance follows the continuing story of Elizabeth Thatcher (Erin Krakow), a young teacher, who finds a home in Coal Valley, a small coal mining town. Just as Elizabeth's life begins to flourish, a new batch of miners arrives in town. One of the miners, Billy Hamilton has taken a special interest in Elizabeth and she is flattered by the attention. But a cloud of suspicion hangs over Hamilton's intentions.
