About this movie

And you thought it was safe to go back in the shower! Anthony Perkins recreates his most famous role and makes his directing debut in this second sequel to Alfred Hitchcock's legendary thriller. Once again, the Bates Motel is the site of nasty doings as rehabilitated psychopath Norman Bates (Perkins) attempts to help a vulnerable ex-nun (Diana Scarwid). As usual, Norman turns to Mother -- still propped up in her bedroom window -- for assistance.

I am amazed how great the fourth film is considering how pointless and confusing this film is. Characters' motivations do not make sense, unanswered questions and a frustrating ending. Led to believe that Norman finally rids himself of his mother personality, only to witness him stroking her severed arm while brandishing a sinister smile. Did enjoy the funky little theme song though. Really wanted to enjoy this since this was Perkins' first film to direct, but I honestly could not.

I like all of the Psycho movies. Anthony Perkins does a real good job both as Norman, and as Mother.
