About this movie

Only one operative has been awarded 16 purple hearts, and only one guy is man enough to still sport a mullet. In the 10 years since his fiancée was killed, special op MacGruber has sworn off a life of fighting crime with his bare hands. But when he learns his country needs him to find a nuclear warhead that's been stolen by his sworn enemy, Dieter VonCunth (Val Kilmer), MacGruber teams up with his trusty sidekick (SNL's breakout star Kristen Wiig) and an uptight lieutenant (Ryan Phillippe) to get the job done. The trio sets out on a rampage of utter destruction in this action comedy that's so over-the-top, it "makes The Hangover look like Beaches" (Joblo.com)!

Ratings and reviews

Classic example of trying to take a 2 minute SNL skit and turn it I to a full length movie. This SHOULD have been a much better parody of the action tv/movies of the 80's but it was just uninteresting and boring....and not funny.

First I want to say that Val Kilmer is GREAT in this as the bad guy, he's fantastic every time he's on screen. Sadly, there is more than just him, none of which was enjoyable to watch at all. Bad acting, stupid antics and bad idea after another will make me never watch this again.

You can't start the movie expecting a award winning flick , and Oscar nominated actors. You gotta take it for what it is. A hilarious, goofy movie. Entertaining!
