About this movie

Recently divorced and laid off from his job, Elliot Baker (Joel Kinnaman, Suicide Squad; Run All Night) is desperate to spend more time bonding with his sons, Bradley (Tom Holland, Captain America: Civil War) and Caleb (Percy Hynes White, Night at the Museum: Secret of the Tomb). What starts as family day trip to teach his boys how to shoot turns into a nightmare when they become stranded. As they retreat to a desolate cabin, Elliot’s mounting fear of losing custody pushes him to the edge. The brothers quickly realize that the man responsible for keeping them safe has now become their biggest threat.

Almost a pointless story that didnt need to be told. Basically a feature length novella about banal domestic issues and pedestrian custody issues. Not to trivialize it AT ALL (custody of ones children and the wreckage and collateral damage of divorce) but, i dunno... Sorry guys im in a bad mood and perhaps its tainting the lens thru which im viewing this..Althogh i do think the extremely talented Joel has diminished ever since house of cards kiss of death and, sadly, 'Suicide Squad' ?! Kk tc

This film was rather boring and not really worth my time. I will admit there was some beautiful landscape shots and Tom Holland's performance was rather good but besides that this movie was lacking a lot. You didn't get a glimpse of suspense until almost the end of the second act and the root of these actions was pretty much based on the fact that the father didn't want his sons to move to England. Yup! If you think you're gonna get a psychological thriller look elsewhere. All in all this is not an awful movie just not a very good one. If the writers would have planned out a better plot and fleshed out the father's character a little more I think this could have worked. This movie tries to make you feel like the suspense is building but in the end there is zero payoff. I would pass on this one unless you're incredibly bored.
