About this movie

In this 2012 Academy Award® Nominee for Best Picture, Break-out star Jennifer Lawrence (HUNGER GAMES) gives an Oscar®-winning performance along-side fellow Oscar® nominees Bradley Cooper, Robert Deniro, and Jacki Weaver. Pat Solatano (Bradley Cooper) has lost everything - his house, his job, and his wife. After eight months in an institution, he lives with his mother (Jacki Weaver) and father (Robert DeNiro), huge Philadelphia Eagles fans. Pat remains positive and plans to reunite with his wife. When Pat meets Tiffany (Jennifer Lawrence), a mysterious girl with problems of her own, things get complicated. Tiffany agrees to help Pat reconnect with his wife, but only if he'll return the favor. An unexpected bond begins to form, and silver linings appear in both of their lives. Based on the bestselling novel of the same name and written and directed by Oscar® Nominated David O. Russell (THE FIGHTER).

Bradley Cooper and Jennifer Lawrence give excellent performances as two people (Pat and Tiffany) dealing with mental illness. Pat is Bi-Polar and Tiffany suffers from depression and sexual addiction. The movie is a bit of a romantic comedy but far more witty, well acted and plotted than average in this genre. It deeply touches your heart and funnybone sometimes all at the sametime. Lawrence won a well deserved Oscar for her performance and in anyother year Cooper deserved to win.

I've happened across this movie a few times, but kept passing it by. Honestly not a big Bradley Cooper fan, and I've never really thought Jennifer Lawrence was all that great. But someone had brought the movie up, telling me I had to see it, that I would love it. I was skeptical. But I watched. And I was blown away. & Amazing job to Jennifer Lawrence. This movie really shows the depth of her ability to act, almost to the point I thought, is she acting or is this just how she is naturally. Great movie

How I adore this movie. I've watched it at least 15 times and could watch it countless times more. I'm not ashamed to admit it, I'm in tears by the end of this lovely story every single time, tough to admit but true. I can't recommend it enough to those who still read the signs and believe in that special kind of magic that makes a surprise appearance in people's lives every once in a while.
