This version is undoubtedly the most terrifying adaptation of Jack Finney's novel. Working from a terrific screenplay co-written by Stuart Gordon, Abel Ferrara and his cinematographer Bojan Bazelli infuse the film with even more darkness and neo-noir shadows than were in Philip Kauffman's 1978 version. Doubt, paranoia and scary uncertainty cloud not just the minds of the characters, but also literally their physical bodies and environment with approaching shadows implying malevolent intent.

The third remake of this classic film. Not as good as the 70s version but still highly enjoyable

The original 1956 film spawned three remakes, the latest of which was the very reasonable version with Nicole Kidman in it. The first remake - and the best - was the 70s version with Leonard Nimoy. Why then, can't I buy that version instead of this utter tripe?
