About this movie

The Deadites return in this revamp of the Evil Dead franchise from newcomer director Fede Alvarez. The action centers on a group of friends who head out to an isolated cabin in order to clean up their drug-addicted friend (Jane Levy), who might or might not be possessed. The helmer wrote the script with Rodo Sayagues. Film series veterans Sam Raimi, Robert Tapert, and Bruce Campbell handle producing duties on the Ghost House Pictures production for Sony Pictures Entertainment.

This movie isn't haunting and creepy like the original evil dead movie. Instead it's just a shock film that's not really scary at all. You've got to have a horror story and then the gore otherwise you'll just get this Not even the "good gore" just cheesy stuff and cherry Kool-aid blood. This movie has the "evil dead" title and that's all. They messed around with the original story and made the plot into an intervention for a drug addict...trash movie. They even stole parts of "the ring" and "the grudge "

Saw this in the theatre, excited as hell to see what new life might hold for a venerable old warhorse of a franchise. Even rolling back the slapstick nature of Army of Darkness to recapture Evil Dead was good - but ultimately the self aware tone that permeated Sam Raimi's work was lost. It's hard to separate this film from the expectation inherent with Evil Dead, but it claimed the name - so ultimately it needs to be able to stand as an Evil Dead film. It fails in this regard. Not bad, but not Evil Dead.

OMG the movie started out good but the ending was to far over the top, it ruened the begining. I wanted to shut it off but I watched it that far might as well finish it. What I'm trying to say is rent at your own risk. After I watched sinister all the horror movies after that suck so I won't recommend this to any one.
